I've gotten a hold of a lot of new music over the last 2 weeks. Haven't had a chance to listen to all of it yet, which is a big argument against upgrading my eMusic plan before they reduce the number of songs per month for new members.
Vinyl:
Rolling Stones - Out of Our Heads 1965
The Beatles - Abbey Road 1969
Oscar Brand - Bawdy Songs Go to College 1957
Enoch Light - Persuasive Percussion Volume 2 1959
Astrud Gilberto - A Certain Smile A Certain Sadness 1966
Astrud Gilberto - Gilberto with Turrentine 1971
Stan Getz - Jazz Samba Encore! 1964
Paul Smith - Brazilian Detour 1966 (cool cover)
Terig Tucci and His Orchestra - Espana Cani 1958
eMusic:
The Melody Unit - Songs for the New American Century 2005 (I thought they had broken up a few years ago)
Plus, some Lambchop and Tahiti 80 that I haven't checked out yet.
Then from other sources to remain anonymous:
Martin Denny - Exotica I & 2 1967
Martin Denny - Forbidden Island 1958
Martin Denny - Hypnotique 1958
Martin Denny - Exotic Sounds of the Silver Screen 1960
Martin Denny - A Taste of India 1968 (Very relaxing, just listened to it back to back)
Esquivel - Latin-Esque 1962
Then, nearly just as good as getting a new album, my wife uncovered a Laika CD that I lost over a year ago: Wherever I Am I Am What Is Missing. It was in heavy rotation before it went missing.
And, last but not least, I burned CD number five of the best of the Oldies House Party each Saturday morning on 89.3 in DC.
